Intro

Greetings, my name is John Severino and I am a student at Dawson college. My hobbies are playing video games, listening to music, and watching soccer matches specially the national soccer team of Peru. My goal after college is to get a degree related in computer science as I enjoy working with computers.

This image was taken when the national soccer team of Peru won against Ecuador in the month of Spetember. These matches are played between 10 different countries in South America in order to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup taking place in Russia. The ten counrties participating are: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela. These ten countries are fighting to have a place in this important event that unites millions of people.The importance of winning this match for Peru was very crucial as they needed to win this match in order to maintain their chances to qualify. The reason why this image means a lot is because I have a special connection for this country even though I was born and grew up in Canada but my parents come from there. Another big reason why this pciture means alot to me is because Peru has a lot of chances to qualify for this event after 35 years not attending one. As a coincidence, this image shows two players from the team celebrating a goal with the numbers 20 and 18 creating the number 2018. Thie peculiar moment is a sign for many people that Peru will qualify for the FIFA World Cup. They have to play two more matches against Argentina and Colombia very soon and I hope they qualify as I really want to see them for the first time of my life in a World Cup.

Hobbies

When I was 5 years old, I received a Nintendo 64 from my parents on the day of my birthday. Since that day, I enjoy playing video games and have fond memories from my childhood playing with my family and friends. I got my first portable system called the Game Boy which was a revolutionary system at that time as it allowed people to play everywhere. I still remember when I brought Game Boy during elementary school and battled against my friends in a game called Pokemon Yellow during our break. As of right now, I mostly play games on my personal computer as I enjoy buying my own componenets and assembling them to create my own computer. My father is a computer specialist and always gave me some knowledge related to computers. I still see myself playing video games until the day I die as I enjoy a lot playing new and amazing games that keep releasing every year. Another hobby that I really enjoy doing is listening to music. My taste of music drastically changed since my departure from high school. I tend to avoid the radio as I do not enjoy pop music and none of my favourite bands' music are broadcasted through well-known radios. Bands such as Tame Impala, Ducktails, Mndsgn and Mac Demarco are some of my favourite musicians that I discovered through the internet. The genres of music that I like are indie rock,psychedelic rock, and abstract hip-hop among others.

Pets

When I was a child, I never owned a dog or a cat like most people in my neighbourhood. The only thing we had at my parents' house was an aquarium which contained several goldfish. When I turned 15 years old, my sister decided to buy a dog but my parents were not aggreing to this idea. They never wanted to own a dog because they were afraid of the bad smell that the dog would cause. After a lot of arguing from my sister, brother and myself, we convinced my parents to allow my sister to buy a dog. My sister decided to buy a chihuahua and I still remember going with her to buy the dog and how scared the dog was when brought her home. She decided to name her Gucci and its been 5 years since we have her home. Ironically, the ones that spoil her the most are my parents and makes me happy that they decided to accept having a dog.
